Hello everyone,

With the launch of Hive's BedWars Season 2 just around the corner, what lies ahead for the Hive in 2025? In this newsletter, we’ll explore what we might expect from the Hive this year and discuss some exciting possibilities.

First, I’d like to apologize for missing last week’s newsletter—I was out of town and unable to work on it. But no worries, because this is the first newsletter of 2025, and there’s plenty to talk about. Let’s dive in!

BedWars Season 2: What We Know So Far

As we all know, BedWars Season 2 is next in line. Recently, the Hive shared a sneak peek on their roadmap, confirming:

“The next themed season of BedWars, Season 2, is coming next. This season includes a brand-new BedWars LTM and the release of the BedWars Season 2 Ticket (paid).”

It looks like they’re continuing with the "Battle Pass" model. However, we’ve seen some curious leaks about a Season 2 bundle, not a ticket. The leaked content didn’t mention exclusive quests, possibly to avoid revealing too much in advance since the Hive is aware of players accessing unreleased marketplace content. That said, offering both a bundle and a ticket for Season 2 could feel excessive, so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle this.

I expect Season 2 to launch sometime this month, with January 31st as a potential release date. It might come sooner, but with all the teasers and leaks so far, the launch doesn’t seem far off. However, since this is the first sequel season for BedWars, Hive may keep the exact release date under wraps until closer to launch.

What’s Next After BedWars Season 2?

Here’s a speculative timeline of what we might see from the Hive in 2025:

  • January: The annual Lunar New Year event is expected on January 29th.

  • February-March: Potential updates for DeathRun and Survival Games, possibly introducing new maps or even seasons. Hive may also focus heavily on Skyblock Horizons development during this period, but we could still see new hub cosmetics to keep the community engaged.

  • April: A Spring update is likely, including seasonal maps, the egg hub hunt, and possibly an announcement or teaser for Skyblock Horizons.

  • May: Expect new SkyWars maps to freshen things up.

  • June: This could be a big month! Updates for Capture the Flag and The Bridge may introduce new levels and maps. We might also see a BedWars Summer update and a formal release date announcement for Skyblock Horizons.

  • July: Anticipated release of Skyblock Horizons alongside a possible Hide and Seek update featuring new maps.

  • August: A likely Gravity update introducing new levels and maps.

  • September: Murder Mystery could see a long-awaited update, adding fresh maps to the game.

  • October: The annual Hive-o-Ween event is expected to return.

  • November: Another possible BedWars update or Capture the Flag update.

  • December: Wrapping up the year with a SkyWars update and the festive Winterfest.

While this timeline is speculative, much of it aligns with the Hive's usual update patterns, so it’s a fair guess at what the year might look like.

Additional Updates to Watch For

  • Just Build: With Mojang’s new Minecraft drop system, Just Build has the potential to receive major updates, including new blocks and possibly a level expansion—something the community has been asking for.

  • Parkour Worlds: This game is long overdue for an update. Adding seasons to Parkour Worlds could be a fantastic marketing move, as the game’s unique mechanics would lend themselves well to seasonal content.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Without a doubt, Skyblock Horizons will be the highlight of the year for Hive. While there’s still much to learn, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year filled with updates, new features, and surprises.

Thanks for reading this week’s newsletter, and I’ll see you all next week with more updates and discussions. Let’s see what the Hive has in store for us!
